These Terms and Conditions govern your use of www.compensationcalculatoruk.co.uk (the “Site”), including our compensation calculator, information, tools, forms and other services made available through the Site.
The Site is operated by No Win No Fee Lawyers Direct Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our” or the “Company”), trading as CompensationCalculatorUK.co.uk.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Site. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information and forms part of the information governing your use of our services.
1. About Us
CompensationCalculatorUK.co.uk is operated by No Win No Fee Lawyers Direct Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 10292336.
Our registered office is:
No Win No Fee Lawyers Direct Ltd
301 Tea Factory, Office 317
St Peters Square
Fleet Street
Liverpool
L1 4DQ
No Win No Fee Lawyers Direct Ltd is a claims management company authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for regulated claims management activities.
Our FCA Firm Reference Number is 839005. You can check authorised firms on the Financial Services Register.
We are not a firm of solicitors and are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Where appropriate, we may introduce potential claimants to independent solicitors or law firms.
2. Purpose Of The Site
The Site provides general information about compensation claims and access to tools designed to help users understand potential compensation claims.
The Site may allow you to:
- use our compensation calculator;
- request an indicative compensation estimate;
- provide information about an accident, injury or other potential claim;
- request information about making a compensation claim;
- contact our claims management team; and
- ask to be introduced to an independent solicitor or law firm.
Information provided on the Site is intended as general information and should not be treated as legal or medical advice.
3. Our Compensation Calculator
Our compensation calculator is designed to provide an indicative estimate of potential compensation only.
The amount produced by the calculator is not a guaranteed compensation figure.
In particular, a calculator result:
- is an estimate only;
- is provided for general guidance;
- is not a guaranteed compensation award;
- is not an offer of settlement;
- does not represent a final valuation of your claim;
- does not establish that you have a valid claim;
- does not establish that another person or organisation is legally liable;
- does not guarantee that a solicitor will accept your claim;
- does not guarantee that compensation will be recovered; and
- should not be relied upon as legal or medical advice.
3.1 How Calculator Estimates Are Produced
The calculator produces estimates using information that you provide, which may include information about:
- the type of accident or incident;
- the injury or injuries suffered;
- the apparent severity of an injury;
- financial losses;
- care requirements;
- expenses;
- who you believe was responsible; and
- other circumstances relating to the potential claim.
Where appropriate, estimates for general damages may be informed by compensation guideline brackets, including those contained within the Judicial College Guidelines for the Assessment of General Damages in Personal Injury Cases.
These are guideline amounts only. They do not determine what an individual claimant will receive.
3.2 Medical Evidence And The Final Value Of A Claim
An online calculator cannot properly assess the full medical and legal circumstances of an individual claim.
A compensation figure can only be properly determined once sufficient evidence is available, including appropriate medical assessment or assessments and medical evidence obtained as part of the claims process.
Medical evidence may be required to establish matters including:
- the precise nature of an injury;
- the severity of the injury;
- the length of the recovery period;
- whether symptoms are expected to resolve;
- whether any effects are permanent;
- the claimant’s prognosis;
- the need for future treatment or rehabilitation; and
- the effect of the injury on everyday life and employment.
A proper valuation may also require evidence relating to earnings, care, treatment costs, travel expenses, future losses and other financial consequences of an injury.
The eventual amount claimed, negotiated, accepted, awarded or recovered may therefore be substantially higher or lower than the figure produced by the calculator.
3.3 Multiple Injuries And Other Factors
Compensation is not necessarily calculated by simply adding together the guideline values for each injury.
Where a person has suffered multiple injuries, overlapping symptoms or other losses, the overall valuation may need to be considered as a whole.
Other factors may also affect the value of a claim, including:
- liability;
- contributory negligence;
- the available evidence;
- pre-existing medical conditions;
- recovery and prognosis;
- past and future loss of earnings;
- treatment and rehabilitation costs;
- care and assistance;
- other financial losses;
- the individual facts of the claim; and
- applicable laws, court decisions, tariffs or compensation schemes.
4. Receiving Your Compensation Estimate By SMS
Where you provide a mobile telephone number and ask us to calculate your potential compensation, you request that we send your compensation estimate to that number by SMS text message.
The SMS may include:
- your estimated compensation figure or range;
- information relating to the calculation;
- a reminder that the estimate is not guaranteed;
- information about your enquiry; and
- information about how to contact us if you would like further help.
Providing your mobile number for this purpose allows us to send the calculator result you requested. It does not, by itself, mean that a solicitor has accepted your claim or that compensation will be recovered.
5. Contact About Your Estimate And A Potential Claim
We may contact you where reasonably necessary to respond to a request you have made, including to clarify information submitted through the calculator or to answer a question about your estimate.
Where you have provided the appropriate consent, we may also contact you by telephone, SMS or email to discuss:
- your compensation estimate;
- the circumstances of your accident or injury;
- whether you may potentially be eligible to make a claim;
- the information or evidence that may be required;
- the claims management services available to you; and
- whether you would like to be introduced to an independent solicitor.
Consent to receive marketing communications about claims management services must be obtained separately where required by law.
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.
Please see our Privacy Policy for more information about how we use your contact details and your rights.
6. No Guarantee That You Can Make A Claim
Nothing on the Site guarantees that you are eligible to make a compensation claim.
Whether a claim can be made depends upon the individual circumstances, applicable law, available evidence and any relevant limitation period or procedural requirements.
Completing the calculator or receiving a compensation estimate does not amount to:
- acceptance of your case;
- confirmation that your claim has reasonable prospects of success;
- confirmation that another party is liable;
- the commencement of legal proceedings;
- the protection of any legal limitation period; or
- an agreement by a solicitor to act on your behalf.
If you believe you may have a claim, you should seek appropriate advice promptly because legal and procedural time limits may apply.
7. No Solicitor-Client Relationship
No solicitor-client relationship is created simply because you:
- visit the Site;
- read information on the Site;
- use our compensation calculator;
- receive an estimated compensation figure;
- complete an enquiry form; or
- speak to a member of our claims management team.
A solicitor-client relationship will only arise if an independent solicitor agrees to act for you and you enter into the relevant agreement with that solicitor.
8. Introduction To Solicitors
Where appropriate and where you ask or agree for us to do so, we may introduce you to an independent solicitor or law firm that may be able to assist you.
Solicitors and law firms to whom we introduce potential clients operate independently from us.
You are under no obligation to use a solicitor we introduce and you remain free to choose your own legal representative.
A solicitor will make their own independent assessment of:
- whether they are able to accept your claim;
- the prospects of success;
- the evidence required;
- the likely value of the claim;
- the appropriate method of funding; and
- any fees, costs or deductions that could apply.
No Win No Fee Lawyers Direct Ltd may receive a referral or marketing fee where permitted in connection with an introduction to a solicitor.
Any relevant commercial arrangement does not change your freedom to choose your own legal representative.
9. No Win No Fee Arrangements
References on the Site to “No Win No Fee” generally refer to funding arrangements such as a Conditional Fee Agreement.
The precise terms of any No Win No Fee agreement will depend upon the solicitor and the circumstances of the claim.
If a solicitor offers to represent you under a No Win No Fee arrangement, the solicitor must provide you with information about the agreement before you decide whether to proceed.
This may include information about:
- success fees;
- legal costs;
- insurance premiums where applicable;
- circumstances in which you could become responsible for costs;
- possible deductions from compensation; and
- your rights and obligations under the agreement.
Using this Site or our calculator does not commit you to entering into a No Win No Fee agreement.
10. Accuracy Of Information You Provide
You should provide information that is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
Calculator results depend upon the information you provide. Inaccurate, incomplete or estimated information may result in an estimate that does not reflect the potential value of a claim.
You should not knowingly provide false or misleading information through the Site.
11. Website Information
We take reasonable steps to ensure that information published on the Site is accurate and up to date. However, laws, compensation guidelines, court decisions, compensation schemes and claims procedures can change.
Information published on the Site is general information and may not apply to your individual circumstances.
You should not make an important legal, medical or financial decision solely on the basis of information contained on the Site or a calculator result.
12. Availability Of The Site And Calculator

We may suspend, restrict or withdraw access temporarily where reasonably necessary, including for:

You may link to publicly accessible pages on the Site in a fair and lawful way, provided that doing so does not damage our reputation or falsely suggest an association, approval or endorsement where none exists.
You must not:
- misrepresent your relationship with us;
- state or imply that we endorse you, your website, products or services where we do not;
- frame the Site in a way that is misleading;
- use our branding in a misleading manner; or

We may request the removal of a link where we reasonably believe these conditions have been breached.
16. Links To Third-Party Websites
The Site may contain links to websites operated by third parties.
Links are provided for information or convenience and do not necessarily mean that we endorse the third-party website, its operator, products, services or content.
We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
When you follow a third-party link, you should review that organisation’s own terms and privacy information.
17. Personal Information
Information that identifies or relates to you is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
This includes information submitted through the compensation calculator, contact forms, telephone calls, SMS messages and other communications.
18. Our Responsibility To You
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful for us to do so.
This includes liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
If we fail to comply with these Terms and Conditions, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable.
The Site is provided primarily for private individuals seeking information about potential compensation claims. If you use the Site for commercial or business purposes, we are not responsible, to the extent permitted by law, for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity arising from that commercial use.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
19. Changes To These Terms And Conditions
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect:
- changes to our services;
- changes to the calculator;
- changes to technology;
- changes in law or regulation;
- changes to our business; or
- changes required by a regulator.
The latest version will be published on this page together with the date it was last updated.
Changes will generally apply to your use of the Site after the updated Terms and Conditions are published.
Nothing in this section allows us to retrospectively remove or restrict legal rights that have already arisen where doing so would be unlawful.
20. If Part Of These Terms Is Invalid
Each provision of these Terms and Conditions operates separately.
If a court or other competent authority decides that a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
21. Delay In Enforcing These Terms
If we do not immediately enforce a right available to us under these Terms and Conditions, this does not mean that we have waived that right.
22. Governing Law And Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in England or Wales, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms and Conditions.
If you live in Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in the Scottish courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of Northern Ireland.
